ANTIPOLO CITY’S OFFICIAL SEAL
The Antipolo City logo is a graphical symbol that aims to relate the city’s vision of a Pilgrimage Capital City that is sustainably developed, globally competitive, with an ecologically balanced environment, a transparent and dynamic government with a strong supportive and god centered civil society. Symbols are portrayed by each component that is both historic and emblematic, to convey the logo’s message.
A pilgrimage capital city is represented by the central image of the Nuestra Señora dela Paz Y Buenviaje (Our Lady of Peace & Good Voyage), Antipolo’s and the traveller’s Patron saint. It is believed that no town can equal the number of pilgrims done in honor of the Miraculous Virgin. Hence, Antipolo was coined to be the Pilgrimage Capital of the Philippines. Underneath the image, are the ruins of the Old Boso Boso Church established in 1578 where Franciscan missionaries established Christianity in Antipolo. The presence of a strong religious background makes the Antipoleños a supportive and God centered civil society.
Tipolo Leaves, represent the tree where the name Antipolo is believed to have originated as the legend tells us that the Miraculous Virgin appeared atop the tree where the very site of the Cathedral was established.
The Antipolo Cathedral is imparted in the background, which represents the seat of the Shrine of Our lady of Peace and Good Voyage. It is considered as the veritable center of spirituality and faith of the antipoleños throughout the centuries.
Aligned with the Cathedral is the Hinulugan Taktak Falls, one of the many attractions that represent Antipolo’s rich natural resources.
The year 1591, marked the date where the Jesuit missionaries took over the ecclesiatical administration from the Franciscans which started the birth of the New Town.
The year 1998, marked the birth of Antipolo as the first and only component City in the Province of Rizal.
The round shape with all the components mentioned represent Antipolo’s triumph in every endeavor it undertakes and the long journey of the city towards attaining sustainable development in the years to come.
