Barangay Government

History
Barangay San Luis can be found in the 2nd Congressional District of Antipolo City together with other barangay like Calawis, Cupang, Dalig, Inarawan, San Jose, San Juan and San Roque.
It was formerly a part of Barangay San Isidro, Municipality of Antipolo (now a city), Province of Rizal. On September 8, 1989, the legality of the existence of Barangay San Luis as a local goverment (LGU) was officially declared. Howerver, it had been oprating as an LGU since January 19, 1988 with an OIC Barangay Captain designated by the municipal mayor by that time.
The creation of Barangay San Luis was mandated by virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg. 793, " An Act Constituting Sitios of San Luis, Part of sitio Kay Ampaula, Part of Sitio Kaynaog, Biga, Kay Bagsik, Susugin, Dao Creek, Part of Pinagminahan, Mountain Range, Pinagkaliruhan, Part of Bubukal Cave, Culasisi, Banaba, Puting Bato, Nilulubugan and Tesorero, all in Barangay San Isidro, Municipality of Antipolo, Province of Rizal, into a New Barangay to be known as Barangay San Luis" passed by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled on February 27, 1984 and approved on April 27, 1984 by then President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand E. Marcos. The said act provides further that the Barangay San Luis shall include the area bounded by: N - Marcos Highway, E - Dao Creek and Tagbac River, S - Kay Naog Road, Maguey Road and San Luis Road, W - Buliran, Barangay San Isidro.

Geography
The Barangay San Luis is the third (3rd) largest barangay in the City of Antipolo in terms of territorial jurisdiction with a land area of 2,821,63 hectares. It is located near the city proper with topographical characteristics of being partly hilly and partly plain. It comprised 35 sitios in 2002 categorized into three (3) regions; upper; central; and lower Barangay San Luis.
In 2007, additional sitios were named and considered making the number of sitios forty six (46) and these are as follows:

Aside from the existing 46 sitios, there were three puroks like Daahai, Kalupa and Tarikan which are parts of Sitio Bayugo.
