Barangay Government

History
Barangay BagongNayon was created only in 1989 thru Batas Pambansa 798. The young barangayis bounded by Tulaken River in the north, Marcos Highway and Barangay Sta. Cruz in the south, Inalsan Road in the east and Barangay Cupang and Nangka River on the west. The 1995 census showed a total of 27, 200 residents as population of the barangay comprised of diverse interests and belonging to the different strata of society.
Today, after more than fifteen years, the census ballooned to more or less 50,000, 90% of whom are migrants from different areas in Metro Manila. Integrating this people into one cohesive group had been a big problem, but what used to be a frustrating situation in the history of the barangaywas guided with the blazing light of hope and the continuing faith and confidence of the residents to the Barangay Councilwhich was hitherto led by the first Barangay Captain Carmen R. Lazarte who was elected in March 28, 1989.
In August 15, 2002, MA. ROSARIO CAMACHO-BIAGTAN was elected by the community as its second Barangay Captain. The barangay was thence headed by a strong willed and uncompromising leader.
